Founder’s Log 091017-00: The Introduction “Allow myself, to introduce….myself.” - Austin Powers
Hey there! My name’s Travis and welcome to my online success journals, aka my “Founder’s logs”. You know, like the Captain’s logs from Star Trek. Pretty nerdy I know, but if Kirk and Picard can do it, so can I! After all, I’m the captain of my own ship on this journey to success and it’s going to be quite the adventure.
But why do this?
Well, a couple reasons actually…
First is so I can keep myself accountable while building and growing a profitable business online and striving for success.
I want to write about everything I’m currently doing while creating success in business and life and developing a lifestyle of long-term financial security and freedom.
No, this is not some scammy-make-money online site. I am not trying to sell you on buying my products or following my “expert advice”. The truth of the matter is, I am not a millionaire expert….yet. If I was, I would probably be on the beach somewhere sipping margaritas and getting a tan. Overall, this website and these journal entries are just for keeping myself accountable and providing value to anyone who wants to read them.
And that leads me to the second reason…
To give back.
I Know, I know, I’m so kind, right? But seriously, I know for a fact that what goes around comes around. I have learned so much getting to this point in life that it would be a disservice to society if I didn’t try and give back somehow.
Taking action and starting a business can be difficult. You may not think you have the ability or resources to start one, or you may not know how to grow if you already have a business.
Either way, my hope is that, if you see someone record their actions and adventures along the way, then maybe it will provide you with the knowledge, courage, and mindset to start a business of your own. And once started, it will help you learn and grow somehow by seeing what I’m doing to learn and grow on my journey.
Most of the time, we see people like Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Elon Musk, and Oprah Winfrey making billions and think to ourselves, “Damn, they are so lucky. If only my life was like theirs.” But what you see is just the end product of wealth and luxury.
It’s easy to forget that they didn’t start with all that wealth and success. What you don’t see is all the behind-the-scenes hard work and blood, sweat and tears that were done along the way to be the titans they are today. That’s exactly what these “Founder’s Logs” are all about and no, I am not claiming I will be the next Elon Musk or Bill Gates. The future is uncertain, but I will tell you this…
I plan to work as hard as I can to the best of my ability and maintain 100% transparency at all times. Any website I build or anything I plan to make money from will be detailed and mother-approved, meaning they will be moral and value-giving. No scam-snake-oil- make-money online stuff. My parents raised me right to treat others like I want to be treated. So I will do as such.
My posts will include:
- What I’m currently doing.
- Why I did what I did.
- What my plans are for the future.
- How much money I’m generating (aka coins collected)
- And much more!
I’ll be honest, it’s really scary being so transparent, but it’s something I think I need to do for myself and for you, the reader. I believe it’s the best way for you to get the full picture and learn from my experiences.
Now this structure below was created from a little inspiration I got from John Lee Dumas’ book “The Freedom Journal”. So I will give credit where credit is due. It’s a great entrepreneurial journal and if you are interested, I strongly recommend it. However, the structure of my Founder’s Logs is as follows:
Every 10 days, I will post a journal entry about what I accomplished in the past 10 days.
I will talk about:
- The wonderful things that happened to me in the last 10 days, business related or not. This will help put me in a positive mindset for success.
- The goals I accomplished during the 10-day sprint.
- Everything I struggled with in those 10 days.
- Solutions or possible solutions for the struggles.
- My goals for the next ten days.
- A good habit I will implement in the next 10 days.
- And my final thoughts of it all.
At the end of each month I will I will do a monthly recap.
I will recap my progress and challenges, my roadblocks and how I overcame them, my breakthroughs, and the achievements I unlocked and, of course the coins I collected.
Yeah, I’m really excited about doing this and I hope these journal entries become something that I and whoever else reads it will gain information and insight. I truly hope that, if you are unsure or struggling to start a business or are stuck in the 9 to 5 grind at a job you hate, that these journal entries will give you the mindset and motivation to take action and succeed.
Well, that’s what I’m all about, and it’s time to get to work!
Before I start these 10-day sprint journals, I need to do some catch-up. In the next post, I will dive into my long story of who I am, a brief history about myself, how I started making money online, and where I am today. I will talk about my struggles, life events, and epiphanies that made me motivated and dedicated to taking action. It’s a long, detailed story, but I want you to get the entire picture. Then I will go into my standard Founder log structure and talk about where I am now with business and in life, and what my plans are for the future.
If you have any suggestions that you think will help and improve these posts, post them in the comments below and, like always, thank you and cheers to success my friend!
Yeah, buddy. my first Founder’s Log completed!
